Gifted and Talented Students
Robyler and Doering quoted the Gifted and Talented Children's Act of 1978, defining gifted and talented as, "possessing demonstrated or potential abilities that give evidence of high performance capability in such areas as intellectual, creative, specific academic or leadership ability, or in the performing or visual arts, and why by reason thereof require services or activities not ordinarily provided by the school" p. 420.
Virtual Worlds
There are numerous virtual worlds available where students can explore different "worlds" and learn just about anything. A few of these virtual spaces are Second Life, World of War Craft and some that are more kid focused are Travels of Wiglington and Wenks and Jumpstart.

Quest-based Learning
The most miraculous part of quest-based learning is its ability to completely focus learning around individual learners. They have choice in what they study and control over what they learn. The best example I have is 3D Game Lab that was started right here at Boise State.
